Showing posts with the label desperate for Spring green

Reach for the Top

Image
In Canada, " Reach for the Top " was the name of a television show that pitted high school students against each other in a question and answer game. It ran on CBC from 1966 to 1985. At the cat show this weekend, however, "reach for the top" has a different meaning. Especially when you're a Bengal kitten.   The climbing posts were new this year, by the way.  :-) It's still grey on grey here, with a messy, snowy/rainy week ahead. Everyone I know seems to be feeling the effects of the lack of sunshine, and of the seemingly endless winter weather. So I'll post a few leftover pics from the greenhouse last week (was it only last Sunday?), for some colour. I know I'm feeling quite desperate for green now!  Funky bark! I don't know what the plant/tree is, though.  If someone knows, feel free to post a comment! I hope everyone has a good week. Purrs and peace from the boys.  :-)

Craving Green and Eating Orange

Image
It's a gorgeous sunny day, we have no snow till our forecast storm tonight and tomorrow, yet I still am craving green. That glorious, fresh green of Spring, new-shoot green, leaf-bud green. There's no green quite like it. To compensate (okay, that's a stretch), I'm eating orange, i.e. carrot cake. Much more appealing than my salad for lunch. My co-worker came to work yesterday and we had a good cry, holding onto each other, sobbing our hearts out. She's in today too, slept better last night, utterly emotionally exhausted. She'll be "okay," as we all are "okay" with such losses. Meaning we just carry on, fall apart when we have to, then pick ourselves up and keep going. It can really suck to be a human being sometimes. But sometimes, when you have a good cup of tea (I'll take my Lady Grey, thanks) and a piece of carrot cake, life is good in spite of its sorrows. Wishing my silk flowers were real.... Universal Blessings, Light and Me...
