Craving Green and Eating Orange

It's a gorgeous sunny day, we have no snow till our forecast storm tonight and tomorrow, yet I still am craving green. That glorious, fresh green of Spring, new-shoot green, leaf-bud green. There's no green quite like it.

To compensate (okay, that's a stretch), I'm eating orange, i.e. carrot cake. Much more appealing than my salad for lunch.

My co-worker came to work yesterday and we had a good cry, holding onto each other, sobbing our hearts out. She's in today too, slept better last night, utterly emotionally exhausted. She'll be "okay," as we all are "okay" with such losses. Meaning we just carry on, fall apart when we have to, then pick ourselves up and keep going.

It can really suck to be a human being sometimes.

But sometimes, when you have a good cup of tea (I'll take my Lady Grey, thanks) and a piece of carrot cake, life is good in spite of its sorrows.

Wishing my silk flowers were real....

I'm so glad your wonderful co-worker has you to be with during this most cathartic of times because this is such a special loss and a special grief only another person who has loved and lost a furbaby will truly understand!

Big hugs to both of you! Enjoy your tea and cake!

p.s. I was recently involved in choosing a colour at work from a firm and one of their choice of colour was "peacock". I was like "peacock? what sort of colour is that?!!?" - apparently it's a shade of green. Guess what I chose? LOL!

Take care

Monday was chocolate cake for me-but I agree...a good piece of cake and something warm to drink (I prefer coffee vs. tea) can make things a lot better. ((big hugs))

I'm sorry for your friends loss. My beloved pets have given me such joy and sorry but I wouldn't have it any other way. I am because they have been in my life. I don't understand how anyone can live without a pet of some sort in their life to love and be loved.

And, I thought how pretty your flowers were and then I read that they weren't. I'm a silly ...

It was a sort of Spring day today. Reminded me of it. I heard it's supposed to snow this weekend. Oh well, tea time with the Purr and Fur Gang for me.
