Vacation Day 4: In Stanley Park (part 1)
On Sunday June 4th we all went to Stanley Park for the afternoon. (Click the pics to enlarge for better viewing.) We walked only a bit of one of the paths, along the "Lost Lagoon," as far as the Rose Garden and back. I would have preferred to have spent the afternoon walking far more than that, but Dad has congestive heart failure and, while doing well on meds, is slow walking. Also, we were meeting up with friends of theirs in the Park, so there wasn't time to explore. (I should have rudely left them and gone off on my own--lol.) If someone knows what kind of duck this is, below, please leave a comment. Some sort of merganser? She had several ducklings, one of which kept zooming off on its own to explore. I'm not sure h/she will make it to adulthood, as the eagle population is high. Venturing away from mama when so young isn't exactly the wisest thing to do.
