Full Moon Crazy
Okay, the full moon is tomorrow night but it looks full now. This pic was snapped off my back step a bit earlier, no tripod, and not bad for a (high end) point-and-shoot camera! The camera (have I said thank you to my dad recently?) has a "nighttime with no tripod" setting that seems to work quite well, at least in this instance. Enlarge--I almost wrote "biggify"--for full effect.
It seems like it was a crazy week. Busy, and lots of heart-breaking news this week on the Cat Blogosphere, and in the lives of some of those around me. My mom, by the way, wanted me to let you all know how appreciative she was for the good thoughts/prayers/Light for Harry this past summer and earlier this fall, and for her friend Sheilah as well (who is terminally ill with pancreatic cancer). Mom truly was surprised that strangers, especially via cyber-space, would even spare a thought. It's not so surprising, though, when you hang around the CB for a while. :-)
I picked up Annie's meds today, enough to carry her through the holiday closings until I take her back for the follow-up blood work (and urine analysis) and have her methimazole dose adjusted. Poor Annie! I sent her blood work on to someone who knows a great deal about reading these test results, and he wasn't too concerned. She needs the UA anyway, to determine whether it's early kidney failure or merely dehydration.
I also did what felt like a zillion other errands today--and by the way, the grocery store was hell at 11:30AM. Usually I do that chore during the week or at 8AM on the weekends, but I was later today. Ugh. You'd think this coming week was our Thanksgiving, instead of the U.S. one, with how crazy-busy the store was. Definitely full moon crazy.
And weird: I ran into my boss twice. In the ten years we've all been together in our department, I don't think I've ever come across him on a weekend, never mind twice in about an hour or so.
Then home again, home again, jiggity jig, to laundry and house cleaning.
What is that saying? Before enlightenment, chop wood, carry water. After enlightenment, chop wood, carry water.
I'm just missing the enlightenment.
But I do have the full moon crazy. :-P

And yes everything is a little crazy too! LOL!! The shopping here has gone up a notch or ten - it's like people are already panicking for Christmas - madness!!!
That's weird running into your boss twice. That;s definitely full moon madness!
I do go out of my way to avoid my boss. Unfortunately she lives 20 minutes down the train line from me and more often than not gets on the train I'm on and follows the same route I take to get to work. I avoid her most times but there are times when I'm not fully awake and have not had my coffee and I forget to keep a look out and et voila - there she is. And I have to make up small talk. Yuck!
:-)
Oh hugs to lovely Annie!!! I am praying and hoping that it's dehydration!!! I hope so!!! Big hugs to gorgeous Annie!!!
And hugs to your mum too!! I hope she is well. I hope Harry is doing ok too and I continue to light a candle for your mum's friend.
Yes, the Bridge has new angels - it's so sad really!
I recommend dark chocolate for this full moon time!!!
Take care

Love it.
I have been using my tripod, but I can't get the close up you are achieving. Guess I need a better camera! :-)
I hope things are going well for Harry and your Mom. You know I completely understand her perspective, it probably seems surreal that what she considers complete strangers would offer concern (and mean it). But once you are a part of a virtual community, you know it's as real as any other type of community.
Long long ago I was "into" Star Wars (we are talking 1977) and met people and corresponded through penpals. I traveled and met many of them and it was wonderful. That is why this never felt odd to me.
And speaking of that...I guess that is why it is so hard to see long time fur friends pass over to the Bridge. We have known Miss Patches since her Mom started her blog and it feels like we are losing a tiny part of ourselves. Life is so fragile and I suppose this just makes it so real. Then to see Inigo go...too young too soon, and also Tavi ... so sick in the final days, weeks or months of CRF ... it's hard to let go.
Sorry to be do maudlin... I'm crying again ...
Dear Annie you just take your medicine and feel better!
Yes, I think CB is a beautiful community... I should get more involved. I am trying to fix the hermit in me, the way I crawl in myself the moment I feel surrounded- I never thought one can feel crowded in the cyber place, but looks like I was wrong.
There is a woman with two orange cats on Flickr (photos only..not blog-like) who posted her boys at play and asleep most every day. We all fell in love with them. When one disappeared and still after two months has not come home, I wasn't the only one weeping. I loved Pete and I was grieved when he disappeared. I still am sad about him. His fur brother was devastated with Pete gone. That hurt too.
