Happy Dance for Long Weekends!

I'm doing a little happy dance today, for our long weekend. Unlike government offices, though, we are open on Easter Monday. Still, three days off is great. And with no bus service (and nothing open) tomorrow, I haven't any excuses for not doing work in the house. (I'm sure I'll manage to think of something.)

Mr. Handyman hasn't been back, though I do have a long "honey do" list, and I'll be at Rona again on Saturday. That "to do" list keeps getting longer and longer!

I was thinking last weekend that it would have been so nice to have had someone handy in my life, someone who could do all this work for free (partner/friend/relative). But then I thought that there's always a price to pay. It might not be money, but it could be sex or cooking and cleaning or generally putting up with a putz. Something. Frankly, I'd rather pay a handyman in dollars, thanks very much--that's the easiest price to pay, IMO.

So, I'm not in long johns today, but I could be...We had a bit of sleet when I was coming into the office just before 7AM. It's about 10 to 12 degrees below the norm for this time of year. I find it amazing that I saw dandelions earlier this week and that daffodils are starting to bloom now. They're hardier than I am.

Work is work. I had a full morning training session yesterday and for once it was just what I needed, so not a waste of time or boring.

Oh, and a co-worker and I are getting new desktop computers--just the towers, we don't need monitors. Ours are so outdated that they have only 40 Gigs of storage, and mine, at least, freezes more than it functions. The computers are in stock at the campus computer store, they should be here either later today or more likely Monday afternoon. Plus, I've been so stingy with our non-salary budget that we have about $7K to spend. Impossible to use it all up by year end (April 30th), but at least we can get a few things we've been holding off on. If only I managed my personal funds that conservatively!

So that's been my "exciting" week. I haven't been out with my camera, so no floral snapshots to share. Just a few shots of the boys yesterday, in the soggy back space.

I'll wish you all a great Easter weekend now, since I'm not sure how much I'll be on-line till next week. (I do have a couple of posts scheduled for Fuzzy Tales, however, one for Friday and one for Sunday.)

Your bus service stops .. that's amazing. The boys out in the backyard are just too cute. Don't really want to get their paws wet.

Hope you have a fun weekend ... cleaning or not.

Ooooh here in the UK, well where I am!- everything stops on Sunday. On Friday, Sat and Mon there will be some public transport running and places open but not so much and they are proper holidays (yayayayayayy!!)for me anyway - yay!. I'm doing a happy dance too!! It;s been a horrendously looooooooooooong week!!!

Oh I'm so pleased you are finally getting new pc's!!! We only recently upgraded to windows 7! Wow - you hold the purse strings where you work!! Good for you! LOL!

I;m so glad you got that handy handyman who is helping you with your drip! He does sound like a true rarity - value for money, reliable person!

Have a wonderful and glorious loooong weekend!!! Our weather keeps changing! One minute it's going to be the driest easter on record with soaring temps, next minute they are predicting thunderstorms!! LOL!!! But I don't mind!! I'm just glad to not be at work!!! That's the best feeling!!
:-)

Much as I adore your flower pics and trips to Lemony Point, nothing but nothing beats your fabulous shots of your beautiful boys!!!

Take care

"always a price to pay" is right! Sometimes that price is a crappy job, too and little recourse! So much better off to pay someone you can get references for and who may actually know what they are doing, rather than act like they know. Ha!
Happy Easter to you too! We don't have Easter Monday and life barely slows on Sunday for most. I'm looking forward to the end of Holy Week, myself.

Ah! Our minds work alike! I often feel that I am very lucky my significant other is a cat. Have you ever heard the song "Four Legs Good. Two Legs Bad" by Christine Kane? A very funny song about women, animals and men. You can watch it on Youtube. Anyway, glad to hear the weather is allowing for some outdoor time for your boys. California has had rain! Not the usual springtime anywhere it seems.
