And actually, it was a dark and stormy night. LOL. So much for good weather for the rest of Dad's visit.

There's nothing exciting to recount, we've not made any other day trips, just done a number of errands and lots of shopping (to stock up on household items, I mean). Dad had never been in to the nearby cemetery, so we went there yesterday afternoon, and he took a few pics of Sir John A. MacDonald's grave site (first prime minister of Canada). And I found the grave of the headmaster (during Dad's time) of Lower Canada College. I had seen it in April, when I was last in the cemetery, and had snapped a pic for both Dad and his brother.

I also found this child's grave again:

 

Her grave had had the fully decorated Christmas tree, which I had seen when I was last walking through the cemetery in April. I assume that her parent(s) must decorate her grave each season. Very bittersweet, as all life seems to be.

As for cheerier notes, apparently I'm developing a "thing" for magnets, because I picked up two when were in the County, from a little shop that sells only Fair Trade and Canadian-made merchandise.

They really were too cute to resist!

And I also bought this unfinished pine buffet a couple of days ago, for the empty space in my upper hallway:

It was on sale for $90 from Jysk, and is the only item I've seen there that I really like. Probably one of very few items that's actually made of real wood, too. The downside is that I have to stain or paint it and then assemble it, something I really don't want to do. But this will be the perfect size for the upper hall and will give me storage, and I want to use the top of it for Annie and Chumley's memorial items. So I guess I have my July project lined up.

Today we're going to head out for breakfast, then do a bit more shopping--or least window shopping. I could use an afternoon nap, though likely won't get one--I've been going to bed later than normal, but of course still waking around 3:30AM, so I'm very tired. Dad leaves Sunday afternoon, maybe I'll crash then.  LOL.
