Every Maternal Instinct on High Alert

I popped into one of our PetValu stores this morning, just as they opened, for one of the brands of food for the boys.

But every "maternal" instinct went on alert when I heard tiny, baby, precious, irresistible mews:

I dropped all my shopping bags in front of the cash desk and made a bee-line for the back of the store. Did they have food? Were they sick? In distress for some reason? Desperate for love?

I got to the cage....Purr, purr, purr, little paws begging me to love them. I just about melted into a gooey puddle on the floor.

And discovered, from one of the staff members, that these sweet babies had just been put back in the cage and were desperate all right--desperate to get out again.  :-p

I'm sure these two little ones will sucker someone pretty quickly--they got me in two seconds, flat. I only hope they both find great forever homes.

OH how beautiful. I always wanted a Ginger but this Tuxie just swept me off my feet. I love those irresistable sounds and yes, it gets your instincts quivering on high! That's good. Maybe they will find a good home (without little kids).

OMC!! How sweet! My mom has a hard time when she goes to Petsmart to get our kitty litter and Fancy Feast. There are alway sweet babies there up for adoption. The last time there was a Siamese mix which makes mom melt...but she held strong. I don't want to share her anymore than I have to.

yep - the pitiful works every time. The kittens at the petco store that has our adoptable kittens has them up front by the windows - I am amazed at how many people whack their heads on the windows watching the kittens. And yep - wind them up, put them back and listen to them complain. :)
