Well, the snow is beautiful and the lighted tree/bush underneath the snowfall is gorgeous.
But of course eventually messy and harder to get around in.
Thinking about your plan to carpet the stairs. That would make a lot of difference I bet. We just took carpet off our stairs and they are very "echoey" when we go up and down not really a problem with just one person usually traversing them. If yours adjoin your noisy neighbors stairwell carpet would make a big difference. I was thinking that since you have some of the safe and sound insulation left from the basement area could you possibly use that on the underside of the stairs if you can get to them? It's something that you might be able to do yourself down the road after you rest up from all the priming and painting.
Just a thought.
It sounds (little pun there) as though things are coming along---probably sounds quicker to all of us reading than to you laboring in all the chaos.

"Short of having her adopted, I would like Cammie to go to a less crowded foster-home, where she will have more attention from humans, though it would have to be a special place. Mine could certainly be bettered, but to send her to another location, just when she is growing accustomed to his one, unless there were a very good reason behind it, might prove counter-productive."
There has usually been a point with my fosters up to which part of me thought that I just would like them gone. They would be disruptive and I wouldn't think it would get better. But Cammie has passed that point, and proved that part of me wrong again. She's settling in, darn it.
Sigh...how can anything that beautiful be such a nuisance? But I know it is, because it brings icy streets, treacherous sidewalks, and the stupid in many drivers.
Your pictures are amazing and beautiful. The third one is stunning with the streetlight reflecting off the trees. I do love the snow, but we've only had two tiny little flakes so far in St. Louis.
