"Are you living the life you imagined as a teenager?"

That was one of the stories a national news station was presenting this morning on TV. I heard the host as she ran down the list of upcoming features.

If you burst into tears upon hearing that and sob uncontrollably, the answer is "no."

I changed the channel.

Who the heck is living the life they imagined when they essentially were kids? Not many of us. But my sudden and intense reaction was a good indication that my life is seriously off-track from my core Self.

Yeah, no kidding.

But this self needs shelter, food and clothing and to care for her pets.

And we all do the best we can, given where we are on our Journey.

the only kind of "snow" I want to see now.

Those kind of stories are darn I say kinda stupid. Must've been a very young producer wanting to put that storyline on. I imagine the % of people living the life they dreamed of as a teenager is about nil. Just plain dumb. Life is not a sitcom. Things happen. Life sucks sometimes and adults learn to deal with it. Not teenagers.
I have always imagined a house full of furry children in my future as a child. I guess I can say I did get what had imagined. ;)

Though in all seriousness, I'm pretty sure that's not what your national news station meant. LOL.

I agree with Angel, I don't believe any of us can ever imagine real life when we are teenagers. I know I was a real dreamer, imagining a life of riches and fame...silly girl.

Due to choice or circumstance, our paths wind and twist, and with any luck we've met interesting people along the way, had some laughs, and some joy.

Recently our local news reported the story of a teacher who had his grade 11 write an essay to themselves 20 years in future. After 20 years he mails the letters to the former students. (He originally gets several family addresses because he realizes they may be hard to find) The news story was that of one of the students who received the letter this year. Pretty cool!

I always imagined a very ordinary life for myself: a wife, children, a home filled with family, a job I liked. Well, maybe in my next life. We get two chances, right?

I had no thought as to my future than to get married perhaps. None at all.

I had no idea what was what as a teenager. I'm sure whatever life I imagined then wasn't very reality-based! LOL!
