Staycation Day 4: Doing my bit for the economy

I went to Walmart yesterday for a couple of items, then walked over to the main shopping centre/bus transfer point. Surprisingly, the mall was open, even though it was before 10AM. I'd thought they would be on Sunday hours, because of the holiday, but nope. On a whim I popped into Sears to look through the women's clothing section, then made my way over to shoes. I never look there for shoes, because my feet are so hard to fit. However, I scored a pair of Clarke's shoes for work, already on sale, then an additional 30% off at the cash register. Good buy!

Then it was just a few more errands, including a stop at PetValu for the canned food I'd ordered.

One of the store cats checks out my purchases.
The for-adoption tortie, with serious tortitude, got snitty with Oliver, the other store cat. They got into it until Oliver managed to break free and run to a safer distance.

She's a lovely cat, but will need a human who appreciates that attitude, biting (humans), etc.
Today I have to hang around the house until the Salvation Army guys show up to pick up all the stuff in my garage, which could be anywhere from 10AM to 4:30PM. I really hope it's sometime this morning!

Peace.

Hi Kim, first off I want to tell you I went into Metro and met Lynn. What a great lady! We seemed to hit it off right away. We have lots in common as you and I seem to too. I really enjoyed meeting her.
I love the top photo of the store cat checking out your purchases. Cats are always so nosey!
Don't you just love waiting for people to show up? We (meaning Chuck) sat all morning waiting for the garage door guy to come. Supposed to be here at 8:30, showed up at noon!
Frustrating!
Enjoy your next few days off.

We admire you for managing to do your shopping by bus, especially the canned cat food on top of the other things.

Now that the family room painting is done, the couch and chair are looking somewhat shabby, being 23 years old! But still very serviceable, so we would like to donate them. How to get them into the garage however .........

That's cool. Robin! Lynn is neat, she has a lot of interests and she really can engage with a wide variety of people. I'm glad you connected, whether you ever chat again or not. :-)

Ha! Good luck with that! I have a couch, a double-sized hide-abed, that's about the same age, still in great condition. I paid a lot of money for it, when the ex and I were first together. I HATE it! Okay, "hate" is a bit strong. Let's say I dislike it intensely, as it doesn't go with my colour scheme anymore and it's heavy as all get-out. I have NO clue how to get it out of the house when the time comes, as the movers took off the front door (before I ever added the screen door) when we bought the place 15+ years ago. I think someone will have to take a chainsaw to the stupid thing, while it's in my living room, to cut it up to be able to get it out. I'm not kidding. :-/

I hope that cat finds a home. Very pretty colors.

Pick up or deliveries .. always a window of 9 - 4 .. or 4 to 8 .. and I usually get the 8 with them running late.

YAY for store cats and good deal!! (and don't you hate that - why can't anyone manage a schedule enough to give you a decent window of time for pickups)

Do you ever wonder how you manage to get things done when you're working every day? I always finds all the days off are so busy that it's unbelievable I get anything accomplished on those days I work.

I hope Tortie finds her forever soon, otherwise there may be more fisticuffs between she and Oliver.
