Blogger's "Subscribe" Widget Added to Musings

After another blogger mentioned not getting notification of my posts anymore (because of those Blogger changes quite some time ago), I took a look at the widgets available and saw that there IS one to allow readers to subscribe. Duh, Kim.

Screenshots, nothing is clickable in either of them.

I've used Feedly for years to follow various blogs, so Blogger's changes haven't ever been an issue for me. (Feedly is available as an app too, of course. No, I'm not being compensated for mentioning them, it's just one of the many ways to follow blogs.)

Anyway, I've added the widget to the left sidebar, just below my "profile," as you can see in the screenshots above. I hope it works! If it does not, someone please let me know; thanks. (I'll do at least one post this coming week, so it can be tested!)

Dearest Kim,
Don't know what you inserted but nothing is clickable...
Neither is your profile viewable.

Mariette

Hmm, the profile and sidebar should be visible when you click the three short, horizontal lines at the top left of the header (from the home page). It's visible on a computer monitor, but I either have to decrease the browser zoom/view to 80% on my laptop or go to the home page and click those lines for menu.

I use Feedly to keep up to date. I used to subscribe to various blogs but found I was getting too many emails. Everyone has their preferred way, and I know a lot of people do like to subscribe.
Yes Kim, but only via Netvibes and MyYahoo. I don't use either of them.
The simplest way is to add those blogs you WANT to follow, on your sidebar's: My Blog List.
That's where you show up and I come here to comment...😏
It also increases your web presence as you interlink with other bloggers!
Hugs,
Mariette

Okay, thanks. I was trying to be helpful, but obviously it's up to the reader to decide how best to keep track of blogs they follow. I'll stick with Feedly, I follow too many for a sidebar!
But Kim,
At the bottom of your Blogger: Layout there is the Reading List!
You ONLY select your most favorite blogs for placing on the sidebar in: Blog List as found in Add a Gadget. It also reads in there—Show off what you read with a blogroll of your favorite blogs!
Nowhere it reads ALL blogs one follows (often or only in the past...).
Still need to sort through my Reading List as lots of blogs are being discontinued!
Hugs,
Mariette
I use Feedly too and always see you there when you post.

We also use Feedly, and we it notifies us whenever you post. :)

I have your blog's name on my side-bar and simply click on it to come here to check each day to see if you've added an entry. I prefer to be surprised.

Thankfully Feedly does notify us too, but it's a good tool to have just in case!

I've never heard of Feedly, and like Mariette, I don't use the options indicated under the subscribe button. However, I've bookmarked your blog and will pop in and check for new posts. I have a number of blogs that I follow that don't show up in my notifications so it's not an issue.
Thanks for posting this!
