Staycation Part 2 & Nicki's birthday!

Before I post pics from the morning of the 4th (adventures with Robin), I'll say a happy birthday to Nicki, he's 11 today. (October 10 being the date the shelter listed as his birth date.) Nicki, in August I hope we have at least a few more years together, but we just don't know how the Universe will unfold and what the Fates hold in store for us. Anyway, a very happy birthday to my Mr. Brat.  :-) As for the adventures with Robin, last Wednesday morning we started by dropping her husband off at work, then stopping at the Trenton waterfront for a few pics in the morning light. Then we headed out to explore an abandoned home she and Chuck had seen in passing. Robin and I are all for traipsing around old properties--keeping a close eye out for dangers in the grass like old traps, of course! First up was the barn, which hearkens back to my childhood. Winding down the week, and the staycation

It's our Thanksgiving weekend in Canada, with the holiday being on Monday. I'll be back to work on Tuesday, and it never ceases to amaze me how quickly staycations/vacations pass. I wish I had enough vacation time to take another week; I'm not ready to return to my coworkers, to the politics and bs, etc. Anyway, I've been enjoying the staycation, with the highlight being the two days I spent with friends Robin and Chuck (mostly Robin, because Chuck was working). She and I enjoy a lot of the same things--I've told her there are only two people I enjoy taking pictures with: her and Dad. We go at the same pace and like to explore, and in the case of Robin, we like to take pics of the same things. That's rare to find!
