(Not) Wordless Wednesday
I heard a ruckus outside last Friday morning, January 21st, around 10:45 AM. Not unusual, as the young father in one of the rental units across the street has some sort of "building" business and has turned the garage into a workshop. (I'm sure this is against condo bylaws, but hey, in our particular complex, that doesn't matter. Nor does safety.)
I got up to look out the front bedroom window and saw this:
If you enlarge the pic you will see four (!) of our city's police officers on site. Four! I have no idea what they were looking for (drugs? stolen merchandise?), and I have no idea if they found it. They did tear part of the makeshift garage door down, and things remained that way until sometime today when I noticed that the real garage door has been put back on. There has been no sign of the young family since Friday, and their van has been gone since then as well.
In all the years that the unit has been rented out, not once--not once!--have the tenants been problem-free. The previous renters also had a police visit and were gone shortly after, and the renters before them were evicted and trashed the place when they left. There were other renters before them, all with "issues" with the law. Either the owner is a greedy so-and-so (I believe she has done work for our university's law department) or she's an unbelievably poor judge of character. Maybe both.
Perhaps at some point I'll run into someone on our street who knows what happened. Gosh, it's so "fun" living here!
Peace.

Wow, that must have been some illegal 'workshop' and/or business going on there...
Stay safe with your Derry and one never knows!
Hugs,
Mariette
I will NOT be sorry to eventually move. LOL.
**** and **** have had to install security camera's { at their expense & per police }
so that the "neighbors" could be caught on film
across the street and two over have no regard for anyone, at any time, for any reason
and basically do as they please and to hell with everything and everyone
word is, that the house on the cul de sac down the street has been trashed so badly
it's disgusting { a rental }
and don't EVEN get me started on the neighbors in the town I lived in previously
I hope this situation goes from.. as is.....to far better... for you and everyone else living
there
We've had one house with renters that caused a few issues when they first moved in with noise and continuous moving in and out of various individuals, but the revolving door of tenants seems to have settled down. We're on a friendly wave basis now. I had horrid neighbours at the old house - there were so many things that I disliked about them.
