"Much ado about nothing"

Image
I have nothing "exciting" to share, hence the blog title!   Below: Morning sky on August 18th.      Well, I had a weird eye thing going on, had two optometrist appointments (paid out-of-pocket for those because I don't have any coverage through work until 2026) plus an ophthalmology appointment in between (covered by provincial health care, thank goodness). A round of antibiotics cleared up the eye thing (like a sty or three inside the lower eyelid; ewww).    Below: Blurry bee. I was trying (with the phone) for a decent shot, but the focus ended up being on the cone flower..what was left of it.      I've also been dealing with a weird skin issue (neck and under chin) since sometime in July. No idea what caused it. Something topical, even though I use unscented, sensitive products? An allergic reaction to an increase of one my regular supplements? (I'm hyper-sensitive to SO many over-the-counter, every day things). So I had a trip to the docto...

Friday Friends

Image
One "friend" from my early morning walk today. She was very friendly, all over me. No collar, but she has a home near our complex. I was concerned she'd follow me across the street, but fortunately she stayed put. A sweetie! And for a smile...This is me! One last smile: Have a lovely day!

Puppy kisses for EVERYONE

Image
This is Hank, a 9-week old Golden fluffball I met in Indigo (bookstore) on the weekend. His human mom and family had brought him into the store (in the mall) to socialise him.  From the puppy kisses he was eagerly giving EVERYONE, I'd say he didn't need much socialisation! 🥰

I don't know who this little one is, or even if they're a girl or boy. (Have I posted pics of this tuxie before? 🤔) S/he wouldn't let me get close, but when I crouched down and started chatting, s/he hung around, at a safe distance.  What a cutie! I hope this one has a home! (I would guess yes.)

Monday Catch-Up

Image
Happy week, all.   Last night's clouds   Next Monday is a provincial holiday here, and I think in most, if not all, provinces and territories. Yay! I'm taking Tuesday the 5th off as a vacation day (have an AM appointment anyway), so am looking forward to four days away from the computer.   Below: Jake patiently waiting for breakfast this morning, as I was coming home from an early morning walk.     I can't claim there's anything new or exciting at my end. I've been feeling rather "meh" the past couple of weeks, suspect it's both heat/humidity and work-related.      We're in the middle of another excessive heat warning, with humidity making the temps feels like they're around 100F or more, so my time outside is pretty limited right now.   However, I am seeing lots of cottontails this summer, when I'm out in the early mornings!    Maybe the coyote population is down this year. 🤷 They're awfully cute, though, especially the litt...

Wordless Wednesday: Chillin' with Jake

Note for anyone new: Jake has a home with one of the neighbours, he comes for Fancy Feast and treats.

Holiday in Rewind

I'm back to work today after the 10 days off. I don't know how those of you who take three (or more) weeks off at once manage to get back into the routine! I'm struggling as it is.    Anyway, it was a busy and productive break, with a get-away to visit friends for a couple of nights.   Click to enlarge the pics for best viewing.      I finally got the last upstairs door painted ("only" eight months after doing the others). I decluttered (always ongoing!) and had a donation pick-up. I trimmed shrubbery, reorganized all my upstairs closets, moved the three bookcases in my "storage" room to the opposite wall to make room for a new 12-cube Ikea Kallax unit, visited the aforementioned friends, had a couple of appointments, bused all over town for various errands, and still got reading time in during the evenings.    I also went to Art in the Park over the Canada Day weekend, unplanned. I'd been downtown at my favourite café for breakfast and someone m...

Two handsome mooches at my out-of-town friends' home. (My snaps, I'm heading home this afternoon.)  Mimi/MeMe Vinnie  Both have homes, but both are "overlooked", as my friend put it, in households with multiple animals. They're each very sweet, very affectionate boys! Have a lovely day and weekend!
